Mixed reception, but some people enjoy it. Comments: Unofficial sequel to Metal Gear. There is also an unofficial NES sequel called Snake’s Revenge, which has mixed reviews, but is a curiosity at the very least. Metal Gear 2 later received a release on the PS3 with one of the Metal Gear Solid compilations. Comments: The official sequel, Metal Gear 2 was only officially released in Japan, on the MSX home computer. Many people recommend the Nintendo DS or Android/iOS ports. There are arguably better versions out there. Comments: A classic RPG, but hasn’t aged very well.
I highly recommend getting one if you intend to play more than a handful of games – it’s definitely a worthwhile investment. Note that you will still need an adapter to play Famicom games on the NES, and vice-versa. I will mark games with an asterisk if they are cheaper in Japanese, and can be easily played by non-Japanese speakers. Note: In many cases, the Famicom versions of these games are cheaper.
